RDO Day is one of my favorite summer dog events for several reasons…it is the very first pet event I attended when I started my pet photography business and it is full of information for new pet owners and has the entertainment! I have Ann and the NEIKC to thank for jump-starting my business, partnering with them gave me exposure and experience – Ann was a member of the kennel club and did lots of volunteer work within the group and she believed in me – we are good friends to this day! Big THANKS to the NEIKC and Ann!
Once again, many wonderful pet businesses were at this event offering information about their services.
More Pet Businesses and also rescue and adoption organizations were out at this event! Dog Psychology & Training Center, Pet Food Pantry, Central Indiana Lab Rescue & Adoption, Mann’s Best Friends, Westie Rescue of Indiana, Pampered Pet Bed & Biscuit
One of the many demos and entertainment for the day included a visit from the FW Police Department’s K9 unit. This gives us an opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with our local K9 unit officer and handler – many took this chance to ask questions about being out in the field and community and also about what home life is like with a K9 police dog!
We also got to see a live demonstration of how they train these dogs to search for drugs, search/rescue, and how they defend, protect and serve our community! Big Thanks to Officer Matt Harmeyer and 5 yr old Czech Shepherd “Zarus” and also Officer Dustin Engleman and his 10 yr old K9 partner Nemo!
Riju Dawg Skool dogs and owners were there to show-off all their training and knowledge! These dogs and owners are well trained!
Also, the Fort Wayne Obedience Club had a ring set-up with all their agility equipment. These dogs too are well disciplined – it is always fun to see them run the course – these dogs love to show-off and be in the spotlight!
This dog is well-known for moving SO fast through the course! I am always in awe and just love to watch this dog move! Although there is not much time to watch – I have to move my camera so fast across the course and keep my finger on the trigger(shutter) to freeze these dog in motion!
Last but not least, the NEIKC shows off their conformation skills in the ring.
