Fort Wayne has so many pet lovin’ people, who want to take their “pets out on the town” and spend some quality time with them outside the house – it is great to see that Fort Wayne businesses are starting to offer dog friendly events around town!

Last week the Allen County SPCA partnered with the Fort Wayne Tincaps to host a baseball game that allowed you to bring your fur-kid along with you!

Jake The Diamond Dog is very familiar with the Tincaps Baseball field – this pooch visits many of the games and entertains the crowd along with delivering water to the players on the field and picking up thrown baseball bats. It was very appropriate for him to be at this particular game during the Bark in the Park event!

Here, Jake was out on the field during some special guest pitching.

Since this was a partnership between the Tincaps and The Allen County SPCA, the SPCA had a informational booth and some sweet adoptables as well during this event! It is great when the SPCA can get out to the public for education and also get face to face with those who are ready for the responsibility of dog ownership. This gives them a chance to meet some of the wonderful adoptables waiting for their forever home! It’s a WIN WIN for all!

The SPCA has so many great pets ready to be adopted! If you are ready to be a responsible dog owner and need some guidance or resources for adopting                                     (or fostering – which SAVES LIVES too!) I know many groups and would be more than happy to send you information!

Big THANKS to these and all the volunteers at the SPCA – you ARE making a difference and we appreciate you! We are so lucky to have Jessica Henry as the Executive Director – what a great team!

Even the staff of the FW Tincaps enjoyed the adoptable fur-balls!

Unfortunately we arrived late to this event, we were at The FW Pet Food Pantry’s Pup-nic and Ice Cream Social(awesome event, see previous blog post) – BUT we did get there in time to visit with some owners and dogs before the game was over!

These fur-kids where just chillin’ while their humans watched the game.

These pugs were enjoying more than the baseball game – popcorn for dinner does sound good!

It is always fun to catch-up with other pet business owners – Adam and Clint are in the planning stage of opening an Indoor Dog Park here in Fort Wayne! How awesome would this be – Fort Wayne is in need of a facility like his! Head over to their Facebook page, Dogs Unleashed, and send them some LOVE.                                                                 Also, be sure to sign up to receive their newsletter of updates and relevant doggie advice  dogsunleashedfw.com

I love seeing the entire family involved with taking care of the fur-kids! This little girl has the sweetest fur-friends!

This fur- kid has the best seat in the house! When your legs are that short you really need to be on the lap of your loved one to see all the activities that take place on the baseball field!
